Lady of the Hollow, 30″x40″, Acrylic on Canvas, 2007.
This is a portrait of my little sister. I love the contrast of the dark blue night, and her golden skin and hair. I have not made a print of this one yet. If you’re interested let me know!
Happy Friday!

My beautiful and brilliant friend Bitsy is a woman of many talents. She is a classically trained pianist, currently playing in the band Distrails, which has been featured on the MTV show Real World (season 23) and Keeping Up With the Kardashians (Season 4). You can also find them on Myspace and TheSixtyOne.
Bitsy is also a photographer, and you can find her art on Distrails album covers, as well as this photo >>
Happy Thursday, and happy listening everyone!

Moonlit Stroll, Acrylic on Canvas, 3′x4′, 2010.
Here is a portrait of my brilliant friend Sarah, taking a leisurely midnight stroll with her pet ostrich. This is one of my favorite portraits and hangs behind my desk. I just love it and hopefully you will too! Enjoy!
Portrait Friday: Breakfast at Lucie’s

This painting was done as a thank you to the staff of Lucie Monroe’s for being so supportive of me, and allowing me to show and sell in their shop. This is my idea of Lucille Ball and Marilyn Monroe sharing coffee or tea together, with flowers. Enjoy!
Thursday is Friends’ Day!: Allie Kelley
Posted: November 10, 2011 Filed under: Blacksburg, drawings, Interesting Artists, Portraits | Tags: allie kelley, artist, blacksburg va, etsy, huneybunney, yes yes books Leave a comment »There comes a day in all of our lives to celebrate one’s friends. Sometimes those days are wedding days, birthdays, holidays, or even every weekend if you’re lucky, but here at Schaudt Gallery we call it Thursday. Today we are celebrating Allie Kelley, my wonderful-whimsical-artsy friend.
Allie is an up and comer on the Blacksburg VA art scene, showing work at multiple galleries downtown, with a feature in 16 Blocks, and now her images are being used to represent the publishing house, Yes Yes Books. She is an active Etsy seller (offering 90 items today), with a blog and a fun Facebook page where she updates her page several times a week. Check her out!
Allie’s work can currently be viewed at Miller off Main St Galleries in Blacksburg VA!
Fun Sites for your Eyeballs!
Posted: August 10, 2011 Filed under: Interesting Artists, Portraits, Thoughts on Painting and Art | Tags: art, blogs, jessey schaudt, websites Leave a comment »As I prepare my next collection of work, I am exploring all kinds of fun blogs and art sites. Just wanted to take a moment to point out some favorites!
An Afternoon With, a slightly voyeuristic journey into someone’s home, photographer Michael Mundy captures different people, of different backgrounds and aspirations in their dwelling place. It is oddly cool. Simple, but interesting.
Anthropologie, I know it is not cool to post a chain of boutiques as one of my favorite artsy web spots, but hey I am still a girl. I love cruising around this site, looking at their catalogue and all the artful little playful things. If you’ve never perused it, I highly recommend, though I must warn you, the feeling of longing for all the pretties may be lasting.
Surfer Magazine, Though I have yet to learn to surf, I can certainly appreciate the beauty of nature, water, and pretty cool photography. It’s like a little vacation on a webpage.
Bluecanvas, This is sort of a forum for artists to add their own work and get in touch with each other, so you can find all kinds of styles and ability levels here. There are some really fun images, and some not so great. If you don’t mind filtering a bit it’s a cool place to stop by. They also choose the best to go in their magazine, so that’s pretty cool.
There are plenty more fun online places, but this is a good place to stop. Have a great day! Keep checking back for updates!
Thanks!
Jessey
