Jessey
Whether clipping magazines or perusing books, Jessey Schaudt is always on the lookout for inspiration. Being a native of southwest
Virginia filled her life with beautiful landscapes, but the slow pace of small town life gave her the incentive to surround herself with fiction, aliens, monsters, and colors which are out of the ordinary. Applying bright acrylic paints to canvas became the solution to her problems, and she continues to discover new and interesting subjects through this type of expression.
Schaudt grew up in Pulaski County, where she started painting and drawing as a child. She is mostly self-taught, but gives credit to her high school art teacher Ms. Debbi Martin. She continued her journey after high school at James Madison University where she studied studio and art history, but earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Radford University. Though a shift in degree occurred her passion for art never ceased.
